per adversa ad astra

About

One of my favorite sayings is “per adversa ad astra.” In English this means “through adversity to the stars.” I know so many of my clients have faced adversity, and it is my goal to help them get to the stars.

I was born in McAllen, TX, which for some of my clients is their port of entry into the United States. I attended the University of Houston, where I graduated in 2003 summa cum laude with honors. After graduating, I attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2006. I am proud to say that our Vice President, Kamala Harris, also attended Hastings College of the Law.

After law school, I moved to Spain. In Spain, I studied Spanish, taught Legal English, and earned my master of laws in European Union Law from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid. I worked at two major law firms in Madrid in the area of European antitrust law. Madrid holds a special place in my heart because it is where I married my husband and where my daughter was born.

My husband was my very first immigration case. We relocated to Doral, Florida in 2013, where we still reside to this day. I started practicing immigration law shortly after arriving back into the United States. I’m extremely grateful that immigration law found me because it is truly my calling.

I am admitted to practice law in both California (2006) and Florida (2016). My legal practice is 100% dedicated to helping to make my clients American dreams a reality. This includes filing applications with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services and the U.S. Department of State as well as providing direct representation for clients in deportation proceedings before the U.S. Immigration Court.

I have represented clients in immigration courts nationwide, including Miami, FL; Los Angeles, CA, Orlando, FL; Dallas, TX; San Antonio, TX; Harlingen, TX; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT and Atlanta, GA; Tacoma, WA among others. I also frequently represent detained clients in bond proceedings, removal hearings and reasonable/credible fear interviews.

I would love to hear about your American dream and how I can help you make it a reality.
